St Peter, Clayhanger

Worship

Every third Sunday in the month at 9.30am we have Holy Communion.

We celebrate Easter, Harvest and Christmas services each year and have many local musicians who help us in these.

History

With a history that dates back to 13th century, the present building has been restored in the 1870s with many elements such as windows, roof arches and furniture from the previous centuries kept. The font is likely to be 12th century or older and there is a Royal Coat of Arms of King Charles II 1682 on the south wall.

Events

Last year (Dec 2023) we held a Christmas Tree festival to raise funds for the church but also to enjoy the creativity of our villagers and friends.

We have Safari Dinners where courses are served at different places and we travel to each one.
