On St George’s Day, Morebath Church was once again delighted to welcome the members of Bampton Scouts group for their annual visit—continuing a cherished tradition started several years ago by Rev. Appleby, a retired member of the clergy.
The evening was led by David Phillips, who guided the Beavers through a range of fun and engaging activities. The children enthusiastically drew pictures and answered questions about St George and other saints associated with the British Isles. Their participation and thoughtful answers were a joy to witness.
A particularly special moment was seeing the Beavers renew their Scout promises—a moving and memorable part of the evening.
Everyone enjoyed the food and drink provided, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to David Phillips for his dedication in preparing and leading the evening, as well as to his helpers and all the supportive parents. Special thanks also go to the Morebath Church ladies for generously preparing and serving the refreshments.
It is truly wonderful that this celebration of St George continues, and we are always so pleased to welcome the young people to our church of St George in Morebath.
