In May, we held a Rogation Family Service hosted by Adrian and Caroline. What a fantastic turn out of about 40 people, to enjoy a service lead by Charles, which had the children helping and showing the congregation seeds. The inaugural Clayhanger egg-rolling took place on Easter Saturday. Some 50 egg-lobbers chanced their arm at earning ovum immortality, in a show of remarkable skill, poise and sportsmanship. The Church was kindly invited to the event organised by Sam Thomson at St Michael’s Community Hall on 28th March, in order to highlight the funding required to re-install the Reredos altar screen. The event was well attended and generated a great deal of community interest, also raising £105 towards the £130,000 needed.
St Michael’s was packed for the Bellringers’ Spring Fayre on Saturday 28th March. Strong interest in the stalls selling cakes & produce, plants, crafts and household bric-a-brac items, along with refreshments, a raffle and tombola generated an amazing £700 for the Ringing Centre and the Church.
